Yes, I have to shelve my governorship ambition after I met with my Ikwerre, Rivers kinsmen who advised me to allow the riverine people of the state to take their turn. My mom, whom I love so much was not happy with the idea. She has this impression that politics is not for decent people. She believes it is a ‘dirty game’ only meant for ‘evil men.’ But that’s not really what politics is all about. Even if it is the case, good people like us have to change this perception. My wife is also not comfortable with my joining politics. It was all of these and the voices of my kinsmen that made me change my mind. I didn’t chicken out! Whether they like it or not, politics is all about negotiation. I, however, don’t owe them any apologies. I know what I want. I know what my people want.
A suspected car snatcher, Alhaji Kabiru Akorede, who was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, has said he could not count the number of stolen vehicles he sold to people.
Punch learnt that ,42-year-old Akorede, was nabbed by operatives of the special Anti-Robbery Squad in his residence at NEPA Quarters, Isashi, Lagos. Akorede allegedly belonged to an eight-man robbery gang, who had gone to the Victoria Island area on September 12, 2014 and robbed one Mr. Albert Omisore of his Toyota Prado marked, AAA 690 BH.

Fake pastor who allegedly hired a woman to pose as a cripple and ‘healed’ her during a church service has been arrested by the Odorkor Police.
The suspect, Jonas Abedi, 35, is being held together with the woman, Helena Donkor, 40, and three others. The others are Enoch Mortey, 29, who posed as a pastor; Divine Kwadwo Columbus, 36, a self-acclaimed prophet, and Christiana Quainoo, 36, who posed as a sister of the cripple who had brought her to the church for healing.
Abedi was said to have performed the ‘miracle’ at a church he was visiting for a two-day programme. The Odorkor District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Abraham Acquaye, told the Daily Graphic that the incident happened on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
The new N100 note designed to commemorate Nigeria's 100 years of amalgamation was unveiled by President Jonathan today Nov. 12th at the state house during the Federal Executive Council meeting.
While presenting the notes to other members of the Council, the president said it was a laudable gesture by the CBN to produce the notes which would serve as a reminder of Nigeria's centenary celebration
Speaking on the new notes, Central Bank governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele said the notes will be in circulation from December 2014
Contrary to reports that Charissa Munroe died in the ill fated plane crash that killed her parents, the church, Bahamas Faith Ministry, has released a statement stating otherwise. Read it below:
On behalf of the Board of Governors and the entire Bahamas Faith Ministries Family we wish to extend our gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love and support by the many persons who have offered condolences and prayers.
Among those confirmed to have passed away in yesterday’s tragic plane crash were:
Founder & President of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife Pastor Ruth Munroe, Senior Vice-President Dr. Richard Pinder, Newly installed Youth Pastors Lavard and Radel Parks and their son Johannan, Pilots Stanley Thurston and Farkhan Cooper and one additional passenger.
Words cannot express our profound sense of loss for all of the team members on this tragic flight. Dr. Munroe was our visionary, our founder, our mentor, advisor, father figure and friend. He was a global leader and icon and was respected worldwide. His wife Ruth was a faithful companion and constant support for Dr. Munroe and was equally beloved.
Dr. Richard Pinder was the embodiment of a true Pastor who loved people, was faithful in service and gave his best to all. Pastor Rich as he was affectionally called was truly the glue that kept our ministry together. His warm smile and personal pastoral care was truly a comfort and a blessing to so many of our members throughout the years of our church.
Pastors Lavard & Radel Parks were recently installed as Youth Pastors of the Youth Ministry having both being officially ordained and installed as the church’s second full time Youth Pastors on Easter Sunday April 20th 2014. Both were products of both Dr. Munroe and Dr. Pinders’ leadership and were personally mentored by Dr.Dave & Pastor Angie Burrows.
Our pilots included Senior Officer Stanley Thurston who was an experienced pilot and served for many years as Pastor Myles’s personal pilot. Also on board was Co-Pilot Frakhan Cooper who was also a faithful member of our aviation team. Both gave excellent service.
Dr. Munroe taught us to have faith and to pursue purpose and advance the Kingdom Principles of Jesus Christ here on earth. He also taught us to be leaders. As a Church body and organization we will move forward as Dr. Munroe would have wanted us to. We recognize that there will be challenges but we have full confidence that God will see us through and we intend to make our founding leaders proud.
We ask for your continued prayers and support. We will issue further details on plans for home going services and other matters relating to the future of Bahamas Faith Ministries in due course.

Gombe State Government has ordered the closure of all public and private schools in the State. This is coming a day after suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked two towns.
A secondary school principal who confirmed the development told NAN she received a circular Tuesday evening that all schools should be shut for security reasons.
Some parents who also spoke to NAN about the development said they commend the state government for the action, because it was necessary to safeguard students.
Governor Fashola has frowned at the continuous collection of 2 year rent by some Landlords in Lagos .He said any Landlord caught contravening the 1 year rent law will face the music. Presenting a keynote address at the 2014 Real Estate Unite recently,he said
"We see it as a wrong when a society pretends that all is well when people are asked to put forward two years rent in advance when they are getting monthly wages in arrears; something is wrong. And if we are also comfortable with it there is something wrong with us,”

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has debuted a new concept for a hydrogen-powered SUV, and it’s pretty crazy. The Vision G-Code is as striking as any concept, with a squat profile and space-age interior, but it’s not the car’s looks that are interesting here: it’s the paint. When the G-Code is stationary, its “multi-voltaic” paint generates electricity in a number of ways. It acts like a giant solar cell, turning the sun’s energy into electricity, and also charges electrostatically, harnessing the power of the wind. Instead of simply passing the electricity generated onto an internal battery, Mercedes uses it to facilitate hydrogen synthesis, creating fuel for the car’s engine. The front wheels are powered by a hydrogen engine, while an electric motor drives the rear axle. It also has some other tricks to aid the production of hydrogen: on the move, further power is drawn from the G-Code’s suspension system. One byproduct of the synthesis is oxygen, which Mercedes says “is routed to the interior as needed,” providing “a refreshing effect for the occupants.” Of course, it’s worth remembering this is just a concept, and while its looks may filter down to upcoming models, it’s unlikely we’ll see the more innovative tech on display in any production cars soon.
Ace comedian, Julius Agwu who declared his intentions of ruling Rivers State in 2015 three months ago has stepped down. The comedian stepped down after having a meeting with his Kinsmen from Ikwere who asked him to step down for another person from another part of the state to rule in 2015, considering the state Governor and himself come from the same area. Here’s what is manager, Sunday Uwen said in a press statement;
“There was a meeting between Julius Agwu and his kinsmen from Ikwere, and it was agreed that he should step down from the governorship race.
“Because the current Gov. Rotimi Amaechi, is his friend and they are both from the same area.
“They will want the position to rotate to another part of the state and Agwu has decided to listen to his people and withdraw from contesting,” the statement said.
