An Experimental drug for the treatment of Ebola Viral Disease has been developed by a Nigerian in diaspora and is expected to arrive in the country today, the Health Minister has revealed. Onyebuchi Chukwu said the vaccine, identified as “Nanosilver”, can now be used as a result of the approval by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that experimental treatments are ethical in the case of the Ebola pandemic. The Nigerian government approved the use of experimental drugs for the viral disease on Wednesday. The United States had sent ZMapp, another experimental drug, to Liberia on Wednesday, while Canada has decided to donate 1,000 vaccines to the affected countries.
