WHAT DEPARTMENT AND WHY?

 Departments in Church are segments created to handle specific assignment in the church.
                                     
Taking RCCG, where I worship as an example. We have the
- Choir
- Protocol/ ushering
- Prayer
- Sanitation
- Sunday School
- Evangelism
- Technical and 

some other departments ...
Taking a closer look at it, we’ll discover that 'these days' young people would rather be in the choir/protocol/technical and only a hand full are totally interested in department like Evangelism/Sanitation/Sunday school and Prayer. 

Why is this?

                                   
I am not saying being in the Choir dept is not good, (after-all if no one is there, who would sing?) but as an individual, knowing the reason why you want to sing in church is important. 

Do you want to sing because its where your talent is and you have decided to use it to the glory of God? that is perfectly great.

Are you among the Ushers because you love serving people and equally want to see things done in an orderly manner?. That’s great too.

NOTE - When something is done with the wrong motive, it remains wrong.

If you join the Evangelism department because as a lady you’ll like to meet one good looking guy on on the way, who would be interested in you. Then it is wrong

If you sing in choir because you are the guy with that bass that’s fantastically touching & you feel that when you sing in church, you’ll get all the girls running after you. Then it is wrong

So also, if the reason you join the Sunday School dept and love climbing the pulpit to minister is just to show that you have crammed the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, you are doing it wrong because it is pride and self glorification and no longer a service to God.

What are your reasons for joining that department in your local assembly?                              
Think again and set your priorities right. 

Change it if you must because living a truthful life is far more rewarding than faking it to your selfish advantage.

As Christians generally, we are to be WORD BASED. Study the Scriptures #Holy Bible# and know more of God because the more you know Him, the more you get closer to Him.

Knowing God will make you understand His ways and please Him.

When you are close to God, you will understand Him Better and with closer walk with him, you will achieve more in Life. Far more, above your imagination.
